These Terms of Use govern your use of the Sail Scan app, website, and related services (the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy.

The Service

Sail Scan analyzes photographs of sails and provides estimated sail-shape measurements. The Service is currently offered as a beta product. Results can vary with photo quality, lighting, sail markings, angle, and other conditions; they are informational estimates, not a guarantee of sail condition, performance, or safety.

Your account and content

You are responsible for your account and for the photos, notes, and other content you submit. Only submit content you have the right to use. You keep ownership of your content. To operate and improve the Service, you grant Sail Scan permission to host, process, analyze, annotate, and use the sail photos and corrections you submit to train and improve its computer-vision models, as described in the Privacy Policy.

Safe use on the water

Do not use Sail Scan in a way that distracts you from safely operating a vessel or complying with applicable laws, racing rules, or instructions from the person in charge. You remain solely responsible for navigation, seamanship, sail handling, and every decision made on the water.

Acceptable use

Do not misuse the Service, attempt to access it without authorization, interfere with it, reverse engineer it except where the law permits, or use it to violate another person's rights. We may suspend or end access when necessary to protect the Service, its users, or others.

Availability and changes

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service, particularly while it is in beta. We do not promise uninterrupted, error-free, or permanently available access.

Disclaimers and liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind. Sail Scan is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from use of the Service. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We will post the updated version here and change the date above. Continued use after an update means you accept the updated terms.
